The Asian Literature : Welcome to The Asian Literature , author. Congratulations on the release of your book. What responses are you getting from your readers? Please share your experience with this book.
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: Thanks for giving me the opportunity on your platform. Till now I am receiving huge support and appreciation for coming up with a book that describes the feelings, problems, and solutions for menopausal women, and external beauty-related chaos, which is mostly untold. I believe readers are the true inspiration for every author. My book writing journey will be successful if the book reaches maximum readers and I will be very happy to be acknowledged and my work is recognized.
The Asian Literature : What encourages you to become an Author?
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: I think everyone expects the family to support you in your work and I was lucky on this front. My family always believes in my hard work. My husband is the biggest critic of my writing which boost me to research more before writing even a single sentence. And then there is my teen daughter who likes to see me writing. I even discuss my concepts with her. She always loves my concepts and gives me a boost to continue my writing till it does not end.
The Asian Literature : What are your favorite topics of writing? Please tell us something about your interest areas in the literature.
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: I am involved with medical and scientific writing for almost a decade. I write for national and international magazines, more focused on women’s health and essential skin-beauty treatments. And, then gradually I realized to share my knowledge and express my thoughts in my own way. So I founded NitaNaturale where I regularly share blog posts on essential herbs, superfoods, and simple lifestyle measures. These activities someway inspired me to write a book.
The Asian Literature : We were hoping you could tell us about some of those writers who had inspired you and whom you follow!
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: My collections are mostly of medical journals, and magazines. Apart from that, I love to listen to people, their concerns, and views on life, those give me enough food for thoughts. If I get the chance I like reading to Chetan Bhagat (2 states, 5 points someone).
The Asian Literature : The title seems different and catchy; how did you decide it? Please let us know the story behind it.
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: I think this is a common struggle for many authors to get an appropriate title that can reflect the author’s view and define the book. I relate human life with nature and the changes we go through in our life are relatable to seasonal changes. The seasons impact our thoughts, our lifestyle.
If we follow the seasonal calendar, then spring comes after winter. Spring brings new hope and happiness after a cold, low climatic condition. Now think about our childhood. As we start growing, we face so many challenges as a woman. We need to establish ourselves socially, in family, and of course in our profession.
After 40, almost everyone gets a settled life. But during this phase, the menopausal journey starts, and this brings some new troubles and worries as we start thinking of it as a ‘gate that opens to aging’.
Now, what if I tell you to think of it as a process that can take a woman back to her age of ten years? The time when she was free from worrying about painful periods, cramps, and even the tension of getting pregnant? It’s FREEDOM and I would say to take this PAUSE through PAUSITIVITY as in positive thinking.
Hence the birth of ‘WELCOME TO SECOND SPRING’, the title that actually informs the readers to live care-free which itself will make you look and feel beautiful.
Another reason for this title is that this is not JUST a book that will provide information about menopause, but it has some very nicely crafted stories that are pertinent to today’s women who come from different spheres of life. The characters have a strong sense of identity and whatnot. Moreover, a graceful and mature look has its own dignity.
SO, ‘Welcome To Second Spring’ is a new hope for menopausal women which describes unpausing your beauty in and around menopause.
The Asian Literature : What are your achievements so far? Tell us something about your writing career.
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: I am involved with medical and scientific writing for almost a decade. I write for national and international magazines mainly focused on women’s health and essential skin-beauty treatments. And then, gradually I realized to share my knowledge and express my thoughts in my own way. So I founded NitaNaturale where I regularly share blog posts on essential herbs, superfoods, and simple lifestyle measures.
The Asian Literature : What is your current goal in writing a career? How do you see your future in writing?
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: Reading improves knowledge. At the same time it must give a mental boost to create a revolution against myths. For example, menopause is not an aging indicator.
I want to create contents that are relatable to readers so that they desire to read my content, and books and stay motivated to live a life fullest.
In the future, I see my writing as one of the contrivances that I can use to spread awareness about healthy living and a positive mindset which are essential to living in the future world.
The Asian Literature : Are there any other books being worked on by you? Please let us know about your future projects.
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: My voyage of book writing started in 2013 when I wrote “Concept of Health” as a textbook for a distance learning program. Then in 2019, The Herbal Remedy Book was published and is available on amazon.
I will definitely write another book in the near future, but nothing outlined yet but surely it will be health-related as that is my forte.
The Asian Literature : How do you see Indian writing in the 21st century? What changes do you see in the modern way of writing? Do you feel it has been changed over time?
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: Current Indian literature conquers a larger area in global literature. Decades after decades Indian authors modify their writing skills to uplift Indian literature and get this global place. Indian authors are now less self-conscious in their approach to the language than two decades ago, and much more sure of their audience.
Indian multicultural tradition gives birth to authors who have diverse backgrounds. Therefore, the modern Indian writing style is influenced by a wider range of narrative and aesthetic influences that attract a global audience.
A significant change has also been observed as COVID impacted physical book sales. Online book stores, e-book publishing facilities, and different book-clubs activities are doing constant efforts to grow the book market and influence writers to keep continuing good work.
The Asian Literature : How easy/ difficult it was for you to publish your book? What message would you like to give to budding authors?
Dr. Nita Sharma Das: I am new in this field, but I believe that a good publishing team can really be a great help. One should prioritize that and if it clicks, mainly if they understand what you want and you get the freedom to decide, it will make you comfortable. In this regard, I thank Evincepub for their support.
I am an aspiring author. But I can share that I feel that book writing is not a passion, but a huge responsibility towards readers as they give their valuable time. Therefore, add information in your book that actually adds value to your reader’s life.
