Authors’ Background: Author Supriya Raulo, Consulting Dietitian and Sports Nutritionist practicing for the last 7 years and has helped 1500+ clients globally. She had helped people to work on the goals like weight (loss and gain), strength building, muscle mass building, cholesterol, thyroid, PCOD and gut health. She believes accountability helps an individual to be healthy. Her belief is to heal naturally with foods, inculcating healthy habits and improving the lifestyle is essential for every individual. Busy life and travelling are part of our lifestyle rather than using this as excuse, one must focus on self and develop a routine to be healthy and disease-free. She counsels, writes blogs, conducts workshops and seminars on nutrition education for general population and athletes. Other than professional life, she loves travelling, reading, curating recipes and writing poems, short stories and currently she is working on her first novel.

Neel Preet: Deeply Congratulations on your book, My Health Journal! What kind of responses are you getting from this book of yours? Please share your experience about this book.

Supriya Raulo: Thank you, Neel. The response I am getting is very encouraging. It’s a new concept for people so it’s taking time for people to be accountable in this fast-paced lifestyle. I have contributed my experiences of all these years and created this journal for all the age group and all category people and helping them to achieve their goals.

Neel Preet: What inspired you to write this book? What was the impetus behind this work of yours?

Supriya Raulo: I got an idea about writing this book because of my clients and for my clients. In my 7 years of experience, I have come across people who are facing difficulties in keeping the accountability to their own self. Major underlying problem is lack of knowledge and accountability and it must be worked then definitely people can improve or manage their health. Writing down your thoughts, goals, achievements will help attain self-control and make them more efficient in whatever they do. After pandemic, people have become more cautious about their physical and mental health, so this journalling is going to help them in long run. And I believe taking one step is necessary and Journaling is one of the basic steps.

Neel Preet: Your book’s title, “My Health Journal” appears to be very catchy as well as thought-provoking. Well, what made you go for this particular title?

Supriya Raulo: If I use any article A, An, The then it will not give you a personal touch, so My Health Journal. My Health Journal gives voice to reader’s emotions and creates connection. It becomes easier for readers to write freely, connect with themselves in a way which was not possible with any other words. Whatever we do, as a human being, we often consciously or subconsciously try to find a connection, a vibe to match with and that comes when we are sort of accepting that thing which has been presented to you in a personal level.

Neel Preet: What was your mind-set, while working on this book? What are some of those major points which you expect the readers to extract from this book?

Supriya Raulo: People nowadays are juggling with health and work life which is creating a very negative impact on their mental and physical health. So, I tried to make this journal user friendly and approachable. This journal is not only journal, it is a friend in a need, health guide, mentor, and mirror to self. Self-love and self-care are the two things which I want every reader to feel.

Neel Preet: How is this book different from the other titles of the same genre? And who are some of those writers and authors, whom you follow?

Supriya Raulo: I have come across journal which only focuses on one or maximum three parameter but not too in depth. “My health Journal” has covered your overall health by covering the parameters like diet, water intake, physical activity, stress, emotions, gut health, career and financial goals, Menstrual cycle tracker for females and the graph which has been proved to be a deeper impact on the reader. And to be honest, I have not followed any specific author but only with science-based evidences and research.

Neel Preet: Next, can you please tell us some of those points which the budding authors should follow while working on ‘Health & Wellness’ genre!

Supriya Raulo:  When writing a book, think also as a reader or imagine will you be able to relate with yourself as it creates a connectivity. A practical approach which the reader, or health and fitness enthusiasts can implement and get benefited rather than only depending on the theory.

Neel Preet: Which segment of readers is your primary target through this book of yours? And, how is your book relevant in the present-day scenario?

Supriya Raulo:  Every segment is important I feel as every segment is a unique feature describing the importance of health in the current scenario. Age group above 13 years is the primary target. Adolescents, men, women, and old-age of every category has their own battles or challenges which they might not feel free to share or discuss with someone. So, this is their helping hand cum guide for them.

Neel Preet: Is there any message that you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!

Supriya Raulo: Everyone knows “Health is wealth” but still not everyone is able to focus on health as their primary priority because of endless reasons. The only advice is just allotting 10-15 minutes of your day to yourself for journaling and you can see the transformation happening within 3 weeks.

Neel Preet: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.

Supriya Raulo: Yes, I am working on health segment focusing in nutrition. Apart from this, I have previously published Hindi poetry collection named “Kunch unkahe lafz” and one English poetry named “Only yours” and next Hindi quotes cum short poems is coming soon.
