Dr. Mir Sadique Ali

He taught in classrooms. Now, he teaches the system a lesson in justice.

In a world where educators often remain silent victims of institutional injustice, Dr. Mir Sadique Ali chose a different path—one of resistance, resilience, and reform. A revered academician and now an emerging voice in legal literature, Dr. Ali’s journey from the serene corridors of education to the intense battleground of India’s highest court is nothing short of extraordinary.

An Educator Par Excellence

With an illustrious career spanning over 35 years in technical education, Dr. Ali has served as the Principal of an AICTE-approved engineering institution, a University-approved Professor, Chairman of the Board of Studies, and a member of the Academic Council at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. His academic foundation is equally formidable—an M.Tech from IIT Mumbai and a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering.

Under his mentorship, 32 Ph.D. scholars have earned their degrees, and his research portfolio boasts 45 published papers in national and international journals, along with 24 patents and copyrights. His influence extends across academia, research, and institutional governance.

A Litigant with a Mission

But Dr. Ali’s legacy doesn’t end in the classroom or the lab. What distinguishes him is his bold transition from educator to litigant. Faced with systemic apathy and violation of rights, he embarked on a legal journey to enforce AICTE regulations and claim statutory pensionary rights—a battle that now echoes within the chambers of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

His legal struggle highlights a much broader issue: the institutional exploitation of educators, especially within private self-financing institutions where regulatory oversight is often flimsy or manipulated. Dr. Ali’s unwavering commitment to justice, even in the face of bureaucratic resistance and judicial delays, makes him a symbol of courage for thousands of unheard voices in academia.

The Writer Emerges

Drawing from his real-life experiences, Dr. Ali has now stepped into the world of literature with his debut book, Justice Unwonted: Proceedings of a Teacher from Classroom to Courtroom. Blending courtroom drama with educational commentary, this legal fiction is not merely a narrative—it’s a testimony.

The book captures the relentless pursuit of justice by a dedicated teacher forced out of the classroom and into the courtroom. It also serves as a powerful commentary on India’s education policy, judicial bottlenecks, and the moral cost of silence.

A Voice for the Voiceless

Dr. Mir Sadique Ali embodies a rare fusion—a scholar with the soul of a reformer, and a litigant with the heart of a teacher. His story is not just his own; it is the story of every educator who has suffered in silence, every institution that has strayed from its mission, and every policy that needs rewriting.

Through Justice Unwonted and beyond, Dr. Ali hopes to ignite dialogue, inspire courage, and influence change in the way educational institutions operate and educators are treated in India.
