Captain Vijayy Aghicha: Thank you, the responses are overwhelming to say the least, this book is really a goldmine for novices as well as professionals having keen interest in the subject of ship chartering.
Neel Preet: What inspired you to write this book? What was the impetus behind this work of yours?
Captain Vijayy Aghicha: The inspiration and impetus to write this book was simple ,that was the idea to give valuable knowledge and insights into this specialized topic which is very much restricted to the shipping sector ,I wanted this knowledge to be spread far and wide so that any layman can get the insights into this subject and who knows it could be a career or life defining moment for him.
Neel Preet: You’ve given a very interesting title to your book, which is very thought provoking too so, what made you go for this title for your book?
Captain Vijayy Aghicha: Well I didn’t think much into the title as the title is very simple in fact,every vessel is born to do exactly this ,which is to trade the world from one port to another port.
Neel Preet: What was your mind-set, while working on this book? What do you expect the readers to extract from this book?
Captain Vijayy Aghicha: The mindset as I explained before was to provide precious knowledge and value to the readers from any walks of life to gain this knowledge and dive into the crucial aspect of ship chartering.
Neel Preet: How is this book of yours different from the other titles of the same genre?
Captain Vijayy Aghicha: Well the book gives the readers an overview of a lot of current aspects pertaining to the shipping industry, the book gives you bird’s eye view of the maritime logistics including topics like HR in maritime logistics,maritime security,risk management in maritime logistics to name a few and what’s best about this book is that I have included real world case studies on the subject of ship chartering in this book.Also there aren’t many books written on the subject speacially by the Indian authors and hence that makes this book that much more special.
Neel Preet: Next, I would want you to tell us about some of those writers, who had inspired you and whom you follow!
Captain Vijayy Aghicha: I have been very inspired by the works of few Indian as well as international authors from maritime domain such as Ernest Hemingway,Daniel Defoe,Jeffery Blum, and Indian authors like Capt Fernandes, Capt Subramaniam,Capt Joseph,Capt Rewari,Capt Dubey to name a few.
Neel Preet: Which segment of readers is your primary target through this book of yours? And, how is your book relevant in the present day scenario?
Captain Vijayy Aghicha: This book is directed at audience who want to explore maritime industry in ship chartering,they can be students freshly out of the college,or young professionals looking for a change or mid senior level managers who want to explore this aspect of shipping as their future career or just anyone intrigued by this aspect of shipping and wanting to gain the knowledge.
Neel Preet: Is there any message that you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!
Captain Vijayy Aghicha: Just one message enjoy this book,take in all the knowledge from the book and use it as you may wish ,piece of advice would be to remove all distractions while you read this book and dive in to this book,so that you can get maximum out of this book.
