Vivek’s tries to find out who killed his father and sister on his own but he learns that whole system and government is corrupted and some big names are involved in this. So, Vivek decides to become civil servant. He clears the UPSC with his efforts and hard work. Through Vivek’s character I want to inspire today’s generation to work hard to bring peace in their life and they must never give up on justice and keep fighting for it. If we ignore what is going on in society it is not going to help any of us. Sooner or later, we must gather the strength and fight against evil in the society to make it better place to live and do the justice.

Tasnima Yasmin: To what extent according to you does women’s safety play a key role in enhancing overall harmony of society?

Aruna Shaibya – I believe women’s safety play an important role in harmony of society. There is around 48-49% women in the country. As crimes against women are on spike in society. Molestation, women trafficking, domestic abuse, sexual assault and murder are common types of violence against women in the society. Women are neither safe inside home or outside. This fear keeps them for participating in any kind of activity. There are laws but not the proper safety measures to protect the women against violence. So, by enhancing and helping women to learn to fight for their safety and make it understandable to the society as well as bringing equality will overall enhance the safety and overall harmony of society.

Tasnima Yasmin: To what extent is the novel based in reality?

Aruna Shaibya – This novel is too the most extent based in reality. From the BHU campus the beginning of the story is based on my college life experience all the events that take place in the story are connected. Where Mrigi was found tied in sack and what happened to her is also pertaining to real-life events. I have talked about one of the most common crimes in this novel which is “Human trafficking”. All of this is related to reality of today’s time.

Aruna Shaibya – Aali foundation is the NGO I started to help bring women empowerment and see women as equal to men in the society and protect girls and women from crime and help them to fight and stand for themselves in the society.

Tasnima Yasmin: What is the significance of the bond shared by Mrigi and Vivek?

Aruna Shaibya – This is the part of the novel where the theme of “Love” is introduced. Vivek and Mrigi share a deeper emotional bond and affection for each other. Vivek’s care for her makes her feel comfortable when she was going through an acute disorder. Mrigi exhibits her unwavering faith in Vivek not with her word but through her eyes and the feelings she has for him. They both share their deepest feelings and love for each other and with time Mrigi and Vivek’s affection turns into emotional intimacy and creates a stronger loving bond. There is a dialogue that “Love has a lot of power. The voice of your loved one can fill you with enthusiasm. A little encouragement from your dear one can give you the strength to win a lost battle. Love is such an emotion in which a lost battle is easily won but if there is no love one loses even after the win.” In this novel, it comes true as because of their bond and love for each other Vivek wins the battle against Premnath and Ajay Tyagi.

Tasnima Yasmin: Can your novel be called a coming-of-age tale?

Aruna Shaibya – My novel is about destiny and how it played its role in the lives of characters. My novel sends the perfect message to society that we all get paid for our karma in this world only. To get justice we must work for it the right way. We must find the courage and inspiration in the down phase or hard times of life as it only comes to make us stronger.
